Room No 7 in Govind Kadam Chawl is where you will find Kiran Maddela most of the time. We are right in the middle of Ramesh Nagar in Andheri {West} Mumbai. It is one of those places where everyone knows everyone and the streets are always full of life. The chawl has its own rhythm and we have become a part of it over the years. We do not have a big signboard or anything like that. People just know where Room No 7 is. It’s a small space, but it fits everything we need to handle the work. Andheri West can be very loud with the traffic and the markets nearby, but inside it stays relatively calm. We started here because it was convenient and the rent made sense for what we wanted to do. Sometimes the rain makes things a bit difficult with the old roof, but we manage just fine. We spend our mornings getting things ready and the afternoons are usually busy with people dropping by. There is no corporate ladder here, just us doing the work that comes our way. Kiran Maddela makes sure we stay on top of the tasks. It is a humble setup and that is how we like it. The local chai wallah knows our order by heart now. Living and working in this part of Mumbai means you are never bored. We just keep our heads down and do what is required of us every single day.
