We are located at 44 Masjid Bunder West, up on the first floor. Working in Masjid Bunder is quite an experience because it is one of the busiest market areas you will ever see. The streets are narrow and always filled with handcarts, trucks, and people carrying heavy loads on their shoulders. Our building is old, with a narrow staircase that feels like it’s been there for a century. Once you get up to the first floor, it’s a bit quieter, but you can still hear the shouting and the horns from down below. We have these big wooden desks where we keep all the ledgers and delivery receipts. The walls are a bit yellowed from age and the ceiling fans have a bit of a wobble when they are on high. We handle a lot of logistics, so there are always people coming in and out with papers to be signed. We drink a lot of cutting chai throughout the day to keep our energy up. The office doesn't have much in the way of style; it’s strictly for business. We have a lot of metal cabinets that are full of records from years of shipping goods back and forth. It gets very hot and humid in the afternoons, so we keep the windows open to catch any breeze, even if it brings in the smell of the market. It’s a tough, honest place to work and we’ve been here a long time.
