Our office and workshop are located at B 14/15 in the Virwani Industrial Estate. Being right on the W.E. Highway in Goregaon East is a bit of a double-edged sword because the traffic is often at a standstill. KBM Extrusions Machines Pvt.Ltd. occupies a space that is mostly dedicated to the hardware and the assembly process. The front office is quite small and often smells a bit like machine oil and old coffee. We have a few desks where we handle the orders and talk to customers on the phone. It is a noisy environment because of the highway and the other units in the estate, but we have grown accustomed to it. Most of our staff have been here for years, so we all know where every spare part and tool is kept, even if it looks a mess to an outsider. We do not go in for any of that polished corporate talk. We just focus on the machines and making sure the work is done properly. Lunch is usually a quick affair, often brought from home and eaten in the small break area behind the main office. Sometimes we stay late when there is a backlog of things to finish, but that is just part of the job. It is a straightforward place with no frills. We like it that way because it lets us focus on the actual tasks instead of appearances.
