Kavita Mehta

Kavita Mehta is based out of a flat in Vile Parle West, specifically Flat No 403 on the 4th floor of the B Wing. Working from a residential building gives the whole operation a very different feel compared to a standard commercial office. It is much quieter, for one thing, and you get to know the neighbors and the building staff quite well. The flat has been set up to handle all the professional work, but it still has that comfortable, lived-in atmosphere. There is a small balcony where I often stand for a few minutes to get some fresh air and look out at the Vile Parle streets below. The daily routine involves a lot of computer work and phone calls, and the dining table often ends up covered in files by the end of the week. It is a bit of a climb if the lift is out of order, but the exercise is probably good for me anyway. I don't have a big staff or a fancy lobby to impress people. It is just a straightforward workspace where I can focus on my tasks without the usual office distractions. The doorbell rings occasionally with a delivery or a visitor, and that is about as much excitement as the hallway gets. It is a simple, honest way to work, and being in this part of Mumbai makes everything feel very grounded and connected to the local community. I find that this quiet setup helps me stay productive throughout the day.
