Kavi Deshpande Associates

Down in Dadar West, specifically on Shankar Sheth Road, you will find the Laxmi Building where we have our office. It is a busy part of the city, especially with N C Kelkar Road right there, so there is always the sound of traffic and people rushing around outside our windows. Kavi Deshpande Associates has been based here for quite some time, and we have grown used to the old wooden doors and the way the light hits the floor in the late afternoon. The building itself has a lot of character, even if the lift is a bit slow and sometimes it is just faster to take the stairs. Inside, it is usually a bit of a mess with blueprints and folders scattered around, but we know where everything is located. We don't spend much time on fancy decorations or making the place look like a showroom. It is a workspace where we spend most of our daylight hours trying to stay on top of things. Sometimes we all go out for a quick vada pav when the hunger hits, and other times we just sit through the noise and keep typing away. Being in Dadar means we are right in the middle of everything, which is convenient but also very loud. We have had the same old fans spinning above us for years, and they still do a decent job of keeping the Mumbai heat at bay while we work on our latest projects.
