Kashmir Times

Kashmir Times is located over in Sion, on the 6th Main. We are at Plot No 276, specifically on Road No 15, on the 1st Floor. This area of Sion is quite busy with all sorts of small businesses and offices squeezed together. Working from the first floor gives us a bit of a view of the street, which is always filled with vehicles and people heading to the station. The office itself has that old-school feel. We’ve got stacks of papers everywhere and desks that have been here for years. It’s not the quietest place to work because of the traffic noise coming up from Road No 15, but you get used to it after a week. We spend a lot of time typing away and talking on the phones. There’s no fancy lobby or receptionist; you just walk up the stairs and you’re right in the middle of it. The 1st floor can get a bit hot during the summer, but we keep the windows open to catch whatever breeze there is. It feels like a real workplace where things actually happen. We’ve been at Plot No 276 for a long time, so most of the postmen and local tea sellers know us by name. It’s a bit cramped with all the archives and files, but it’s our space and it works for what we need to do. Every day is a bit different depending on what’s going on in the city.
