Kamdar Plascits Pvt Ltd is situated in Room No 2 of the Sundrabai Chawl in Mumbai. Working in a chawl means you are never really alone; there is always noise from the neighbors and the sound of the city right outside the door. Our room is packed with whatever materials we are dealing with at the time, so there isn't much space to move around. It gets quite warm in the summer months, and the small fan we have doesn't do much more than move the hot air around. But we have been here for a long time, and it works for us. The Sundrabai Chawl has a lot of history and a lot of different small businesses running out of it. We are just one part of that busy environment. Sometimes the rain gets a bit much and we have to make sure the materials stay dry, but that’s just part of being in Mumbai. We keep things simple and just focus on the plastic work we do. It’s a tight squeeze, but we know where everything is, and we manage to get the orders out on time despite the cramped quarters.
