About Kajal Shah Fashion Designer – Business Planning And Management Consultant in Mumbai
I run my fashion design work out of unit 404 in Andheri West. It’s a busy part of the city, which is great because there’s always something happening right outside the door. Inside, it’s a bit different. There are fabrics everywhere, sketches pinned to the walls, and a couple of sewing machines that probably need a bit of oil. This is where I spend most of my time, coming up with new designs and trying to make them work in real life. Fashion is a lot more work than it looks like on the runway. It involves a lot of sitting on the floor cutting patterns and getting pins stuck in your fingers. I’ve been doing this in Andheri West for a while now. I like being here because it feels like the heart of things. My space at 404 is my little creative corner. It’s not always tidy, but I know where everything is. People come by for fittings or just to see what I’m working on. I don’t try to act like some big famous designer; I just enjoy making clothes that people feel good wearing. It’s a lot of trial and error, honestly. Sometimes a design doesn’t work out, and you have to start over. But that’s just part of the process. If you’re looking for someone who just makes clothes with a lot of heart, that’s me here in Andheri. It's hard work but seeing someone in a finished piece makes it worth it. I keep sewing until it's right.
