I’m over at Samadhan Niwas, specifically Flat No 2 on N M Joshi Marg. This part of Byculla is right near the station and Chinchpokli, so it’s incredibly convenient if you’re traveling by the local train. The building is 521 Samadhan Niwas, it’s a typical local spot. I’ve been based here for a while now. The area is always buzzing with energy, especially during festival seasons when the whole street gets packed with people. My workspace is small and functional. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on fancy decor, so it’s just the basics—desk, chairs, and my equipment. Being on the ground floor or near the entrance of these buildings usually means you hear everyone coming and going, which is fine by me. It makes you feel part of the neighborhood. I handle my business chores from here, usually with the radio on low or just the sounds of the street coming through the window. It’s not a corporate headquarters, just a room where I get my projects finished. People usually find me through word of mouth or because they live nearby. If you’re coming from the Chinchpokli side, it’s a short walk. I like the independence of working for myself in a place like this. It’s honest work and I try to keep things moving along without making things too complicated for anyone who comes to see me. The tea stall nearby is where I take my breaks. It’s a simple life and it works well.
