Our building, which is called Madhusudan, sits right on a very busy street. It is quite close to the railway station, which is lucky for those of us who have to take the local train every morning. The area is full of old traditional shops and some new cafes popping up. Inside our office, things are kept pretty simple. We have our desks and chairs and a whole lot of computer screens. We work on the services side of things, so there is always a report to finish or some data to fix. It is not the kind of office you see in movies with those huge glass walls and views. It feels more like a regular local business. We deal with a lot of digital records and paperwork throughout the week. The noise from Prarthana Samaj Road comes in through the windows and that is basically the background music for our day. We know the local guys selling tea and snacks by their names. Lunch usually means someone heading out for a quick vada pav or just eating from a tiffin brought from home. We do not have a big corporate culture here. We just work together and get it done.
