Jitsan

Down in Kandivali West, inside the Bhatia Estate at Charkop, that’s where you’ll find Jitsan. We are at A-14. Charkop is a busy industrial patch. It’s a bit of a trek from the station, especially when it rains and the roads get those big puddles. We’ve been operating out of this small unit for a while now. It’s not a huge operation. We have a few workbenches and some tools. The space is a bit cramped because we keep everything we need right here. We make various small parts and do some assembly. It’s the kind of place where you get your hands dirty every single day. There’s no air conditioning, just the big industrial fans that move the air around. We talk about local news or the cricket scores while we work. We don't have any mission statements on the walls. Mostly just some old calendars and a list of things we need to get done by Friday. Sometimes we stay late to finish a batch if the client is in a rush. The estate is full of small workshops like ours. You can hear the guy next door grinding metal and the smell of oil is pretty much everywhere. It’s just our daily life. We don’t try to be anything we aren't. We just handle the jobs as they come in and try to keep our workspace organized enough to find the wrenches.
