Jay Vachharaj Novelty is located in Sukhari Manilal Chawl along Sahar Road in Andheri East. If you know this area, you know it’s always moving and always loud. We are right in the middle of it. Our shop is small, and we pack it full of all sorts of novelty items. It’s the kind of place where you have to look closely to see everything we have. We’ve got shelves stacked high, and sometimes things get a bit dusty, but we try our best to keep it tidy. We open early because Sahar Road gets busy fast. Most of our customers are locals who live nearby or people passing through on their way to work. We don't have a computer system or anything high-tech; we still use a simple notepad and a calculator for everything. It works for us. The chawl has a lot of history, and we’ve been part of it for a good amount of time. We know our neighbors, and we usually spend some time chatting with them outside the shop when things are quiet. There isn't any fancy lighting or air conditioning here. We just have a couple of sturdy fans and the front door open to the street. It’s a very basic setup, but it’s where we spend most of our lives. We just sell things people might need or want on a whim.
