Jamna Exports

We’ve been here at the Cotton Exchange Building for quite some time now. Room 605 is where you’ll find us most days, usually buried under some sort of paperwork or talking to people on the phone. The building itself has that old Mumbai feel to it, which some people like and some people do not. The elevators are sometimes a bit slow, so we end up taking the stairs more often than we’d like, especially when we’re in a hurry to get things out. Jamna Exports isn't a huge operation, just a handful of us making sure things move from point A to point B without too much trouble. It gets pretty warm in the afternoons, but we have the fans going. We mostly deal with the day-to-day logistics and making sure the orders are lined up. Sometimes the traffic downstairs near Kalbadevi is just a mess, so we try to get our deliveries sorted early in the morning before it gets too crazy. We don't really have a fancy reception or anything like that. It’s just desks, some filing cabinets, and the sound of the city outside. Most of our day is just spent checking lists and talking to the transporters. It is a lot of routine work, but it keeps us busy. We like the neighborhood even if it’s noisy because everything you need is right around the corner. If you ever come by, just head up to the sixth floor.
