We’re over in Borivali East, running Jain Solar Power from a modest space. It’s mostly just us and a bunch of solar panels and batteries stacked up. We spend a lot of our time out on rooftops under the sun, which is ironic because that's exactly what we're trying to use. It’s hot, sweaty work, and our shoes get worn out pretty fast from climbing ladders. We don't have a big sales team or a fancy office with air conditioning. We mostly just talk to people in the neighborhood who are tired of their electricity bills going up. We explain how the panels work and how much space they’ll need on their terrace. It’s not a complicated business, but it requires a lot of heavy lifting and wiring. Sometimes the rain stops us from working, so we spend those days in the shop checking the inventory. We’ve seen the area change a lot over the years, but we’ve stayed right here. We aren't a huge company with fancy commercials. We’re just a local crew that knows how to set up these systems so they actually work. If something goes wrong with a fuse or a wire, we go back and fix it. People know where to find us if they have questions. It’s a decent way to make a living and it keeps us outdoors. We keep our tools organized as best we can, though the shop gets cluttered.
