Jain Bead House

The shop is called Jain Bead House and you can find us at number 98. We are tucked away in Gulal Wadi, which is right on the Old High Court Road near the Income Tax office. It is a very old part of the city, and the streets are usually quite narrow and full of people moving around. Inside the shop, we have boxes and containers of beads everywhere you look. It’s not the most organized place in the world, but we usually know where everything is kept. Some of the stock has been sitting on the shelves for a long time, and a bit of dust settles on the lids. People come in looking for specific types of beads for their projects or businesses. We spend a lot of time just counting things out and putting them into small bags. The light inside isn't great, so we have a few extra lamps to see the colors properly. It’s a quiet kind of work compared to the noise out on the street. Being near the Income Tax office means there are always people walking past, but only those who really need beads find their way inside. We don't have any fancy displays or anything like that. It’s just shelves from floor to ceiling. We open up in the morning and stay until the sun goes down. It is a very simple way of doing things, and that suits us just fine. We just handle the beads and wait for the next customer.
