J D Gift House

J D Gift House is located at 275/8 Gope Niwas, which is right opposite Sion Hospital in Sion. Being across from a hospital means we see a lot of different people. Some are visiting patients and want to bring a little something to cheer them up, so we keep a lot of those kinds of gifts ready. Others are just passing through the area because Sion is such a major junction. Gope Niwas is a familiar building to most people around here. The shop itself is quite simple. We have shelves lined with all sorts of things, from small trinkets to larger items. It can get a bit emotional sometimes, given our location, so we try to be a quiet, helpful presence. We’ve been in this spot for years and have seen the hospital expand and the traffic around Sion get much heavier. I usually spend my mornings checking the stock and making sure everything is priced correctly. We don't do any big promotions or sales events. People know we are here if they need us. It’s a modest way to make a living, but we enjoy the interactions with the locals and the regulars who have been coming to us for a decade or more. Sometimes the bus noise from the main road is a bit much, but you get used to it after a while. It’s just part of life here.
