Ion Exchange Ind Ltd operates out of 106 I Santoshi Darshan Apartment on Pune Link Road in Kalyan East. Kalyan is quite far out, and the traffic on Pune Link Road can be a real nightmare most days. Our office is basically an apartment unit that we've converted into a workspace. It’s in the Vijaynagar area, which is a big residential hub. Being in an apartment building means we have to be mindful of the neighbors, so we keep things relatively quiet. The space is a bit tight with all the files and equipment we need for our water projects. We have a couple of rooms set up with desks and a small area for meetings. It’s not the kind of place with a big sign out front or a glass entrance. You have to know which floor to go to. Most of our work involves coordinating with sites across the region, so there is a lot of phone work and emailing. We are a small group and we’ve worked together for a long time. The office feels a bit like a home away from home. We usually have lunch together and complain about the commute. It’s a very down-to-earth environment. We don't worry about being fancy; we just want to make sure the day's work is completed properly before the evening rush hour starts on the main road. It gets the job done for us and that is what matters.
