Our office is tucked away at 89 6 12 in Sewree, right in the middle of a busy part of Mumbai. We spend most of our days working on different research projects that come our way. The building itself has seen better days, but it serves us well enough for what we need. You can hear the sounds of the city and the nearby docks all day long, which just becomes background noise after a while. The team here is small, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything, whether it is filing papers or sitting at the computer for hours. We don't have any flashy signs or a big lobby to welcome people. Usually, someone is just sitting near the door to say hello if you come in. The furniture is a bit mismatched and the shelves are overflowing with old files, but we know exactly where everything is located. Lunchtime is when we usually step out to the local shops around Sewree to grab something quick. It is a very normal, hardworking atmosphere without any corporate pretense. We just focus on the research tasks and try to keep things moving forward. Sometimes the power goes out or the internet acts up, but that is just part of working in this part of town. We have grown used to the quirks of the building and the neighborhood over the years. It is a steady place to work for people who don't mind a bit of grit.
