Inspiration Giftings

Our office is at Number 11 in the A. C. Roof House, which is part of Patil House in Borla Village. It’s right in Govandi East. To get here, you have to walk through some narrow streets, but it’s a lively neighborhood once you get the hang of it. We do a lot of gifting work from this small space. It’s more of an office than a walk-in shop, so we spend a lot of time on the phone or looking at catalogs. The roof is made of corrugated sheets, so when it rains, it gets really loud inside. You can’t even hear yourself think sometimes. We have shelves stacked with boxes and wrapping paper. It’s not the most organized place in the world, but we know where everything is. My cousin helps out with the deliveries when he’s not busy with his other job. We started this because we liked the idea of helping people find nice things to give, but it’s a lot more paperwork than I expected. Borla Village is a place where everyone knows everyone, so we often have neighbors dropping by just to say hello or ask what we’re working on. We don't have a big fancy sign outside, just a small one near the door. It’s a practical setup for us. We just keep working through the orders and try to stay cool when the sun hits the roof in the summer. It's just how things are here.
