We are located in Room No 1 of the Ashraman Compound in Mumbai, pin 400072. If you know Mumbai at all, you know that space is always tight and expensive. Our office for Infospace Consultancy Pvt Ltd is small, but it is right where we need to be. It is in a busy compound with other small businesses and workshops around us. There is always the sound of traffic and people working nearby. The room is very basic—just some metal desks, a couple of ceiling fans to keep the air moving, and our computers. It gets very humid here, so those fans are going almost all year round. We do consultancy work, which means a lot of paperwork and time spent on the phone. It is not a glamorous job, but we have been doing it for a long time now. We do not have a big sign or a fancy entrance for visitors. You just walk into the compound and find Room 1. We mostly keep to ourselves and focus on the tasks we have for the day. Lunch is usually something quick from a nearby stall or a tiffin brought from home. Sometimes we have to move boxes around just to find a place for everyone to sit, but that is just how it is in Mumbai. We are not trying to impress anyone with a fancy office. We just get the work done.
