India Export & Import House

You can find India Export & Import House at 41-Mehta Mansion. We’re up on the second floor. The building is located on 1st Carpenter Street, which most locals just call Sutar Gali, near C.P. Tank. It’s a very busy part of town, always full of people and carts moving goods around. Our office is right in the thick of it. We’ve been handling shipping and trade from this spot for years. It’s a cramped space, filled with ledgers, stamps, and old filing cabinets. We deal with a lot of different goods coming in and going out. It’s not a glamorous job. Most of our day is spent checking manifests and talking to transporters. The stairs up to the second floor are a bit steep, but we’re used to them by now. Sutar Gali has its own rhythm, and we’ve become a part of it. We know the other merchants and the tea sellers nearby. We don't have a big website or fancy marketing. People know where we are when they need to move cargo. It’s a lot of coordination and making sure the paperwork is actually correct before things leave the port. Sometimes the phones don't stop ringing, and other days it’s quiet enough to actually clear the desk. We just keep at it, day after day, making sure the trade keeps moving.
