In Things

In Things is based at 10-63, Rashmoni Sudan, on 18th Road in Chembur. It’s a fairly quiet street compared to some other parts of Mumbai. We have a small setup here where we keep all our stock. The space is a bit tight because we try to have a lot of different things available. We spend our mornings going through the mail and checking what needs to be sent out. It’s just a few of us working here, so we all do a bit of everything. One day we might be cleaning the floors and the next we’re handling accounts. The building, Rashmoni Sudan, is an older one and we’ve been here for a good while. We like being in Chembur because it feels more like a community. We know the people at the local shops and they know us. Our workspace isn't very modern; it’s just got the basics we need to get by. Sometimes the fans make a bit of noise, but we don't really notice it anymore. We don't have any big signs or fancy branding outside. People usually find us by looking for the room number. We just take things one day at a time and try to keep things moving along without making a big deal out of it. It’s a simple, honest way to run a small business and it suits us just fine.
