Ikea International

We are located on the third floor of Akbar Mansion, specifically in room number 52. Being on M.S. Ali Road in Mumbai means there is never a quiet moment. You can hear the taxis and the people shouting downstairs all day long. The building is one of those older Mumbai structures that has a lot of character, though the stairs can be a bit of a climb if you are carrying boxes or files. We deal with international matters here, so there is a lot of back and forth with shipping documents and emails. The room itself is small, packed with files and a couple of desks. It feels a bit cramped sometimes when everyone is in at once, but we make it work. We have been in this part of Mumbai for quite a bit, so we know all the shortcuts through the side streets to avoid the worst traffic. The lights flicker occasionally, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it does not stop us from getting through the day's tasks. It is a very practical setup. We handle the coordination for Ikea International from this little corner of the city. It is just a bunch of us working through the logistics and making sure the numbers match up. There is a lot of tea and coffee consumed to keep us going through the afternoon. It is just life in the city, really.
