I D E M I

We are based at 85/A, R-9, in Chalke Chawl, which is in the Tadwadi area off Swadeshi Mill Road. This is right in the Sion-Chunabhatti part of Mumbai. Being in a chawl means there is always a lot of life and noise around us. It is a very busy place with people constantly moving through the lanes. Our space is functional and mostly filled with the tools and equipment we need for our work. It is not a place for sitting around; we are usually busy with technical tasks from the moment we open up. The building is old and the walls show it, but it serves our purpose well enough. We have a small area for files and a couple of desks for the paperwork. Most of the guys here commute from different parts of Mumbai, so the office really gets going once everyone arrives after the morning train rush. We handle a lot of the technical side of things for the local industries around here. It is a very hands-on environment. There is a small food stall nearby where we usually grab some vada pav for lunch. We don't have any fancy signs or marketing stuff. Most of our work comes from people who have known us for years in the neighborhood. It is a crowded, noisy, and busy place, but that is just how Mumbai is.
