You can find us at Room123 in the New Siddharth Chawl. We are right near the church and behind the old police station in Dharavi. It is a very busy area, and there is always something happening right outside the door. Hdfc Bank Ltd has been using this space for a while now. It is small, but it works for what we need to do. The walls are a bit thin, so we hear the life of the chawl all day long. It’s a very real part of Mumbai 400 017. People walk by and wave, and we know most of the people on this street. It is not like the big offices you see in the movies. We have a few chairs, a couple of sturdy tables, and our computer systems. Sometimes the power flickers, but we have a backup to keep things moving. The air is always filled with the smell of food from the nearby stalls. We don’t have a lobby or a fancy reception. You just walk in and we are there. It is a practical spot for being in the heart of Maharashtra. We deal with a lot of paperwork every day and try to keep things organized despite the limited space. It’s our little corner of the world where we focus on the numbers and the people who come in. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fan going and just carry on with the ledger entries.
