Prasad Chambers is a legendary place if you know anything about the diamond trade in Mumbai. Being up here in office 315, we see a lot of the daily hustle that defines Opera House. Hari Krishna Exports has been part of this building for quite some time. The hallways are always crowded with people carrying small parcels and talking fast on their phones. Inside our office, things are a bit more focused. We have these large windows that let in the northern light, which is what you need when you're looking at stones all day. It’s not a quiet job; there’s always the sound of people debating prices or the clinking of tweezers. We aren't big on corporate titles or formal meetings. Most decisions happen over a cup of cutting chai while we're standing around a sorting table. The elevators in this building are notoriously slow, so we end up waiting a lot, which is when most of the gossip happens.
