Happen Inc is based in Bandra West, specifically in Office No 103 of the Nectar I Building. Bandra is a very lively part of Mumbai, and there is always something happening on the streets outside our windows. The Nectar building is relatively easy to find if you know the backstreets of Bandra West, though it is a bit hidden away. Our office is on the first floor, so we don't have to wait for the lift most days which is a blessing when we are in a hurry. It’s a compact space, as is common in this part of the city where every square inch is valuable and rent is high. We have our desks crammed in pretty tight, but we manage to stay organized enough to get the work done. The area is full of cafes and little eateries, so lunch is always the highlight of the day for the people who work here. We don't have any fancy mission statements or corporate values hanging on the walls to impress people. Instead, we have a few photos of our families and some old calendars that we forgot to change. The traffic in Bandra can be a nightmare, so most of us use the train or come in on scooters to save time and avoid getting stuck. It gets quite humid here, especially during the monsoon, and we often have to deal with damp walls and the sound of heavy rain on the metal roof next door. It’s a very typical Mumbai workspace—busy, a little bit cramped, but full of energy and familiar faces.
