Habiba Embroidery

We have been sitting in this room A 459 in Mukund Nagar for quite some time now. It is right on J M Road. If you know Dharavi, you know how busy it gets around here. Our shop isn't big, but it’s where all the embroidery happens. Most days it’s just the sound of the machines and people talking outside. We do a lot of thread work. It is cramped with fabric rolls and colored strings everywhere you look. Sometimes the light is a bit dim, but we manage just fine. People find us because they know the area. It is a simple setup really. No fancy chairs or air conditioning, just a place to get the work done. The street outside is always noisy with bikes and carts. My family and a couple of others help out with the stitching. We started small and stayed here because everyone knows the address now. It gets hot in the summer, so we keep the door open. You might miss the entrance if you aren't looking closely at the room numbers. It is just a regular local spot in Mukund Nagar. We handle the orders as they come. There is always a pile of clothes waiting to be finished. We don't have a big sign, but the neighbors can point you to Habiba Embroidery easily. It’s home for us, and the work keeps us busy from morning till the evening sun goes down.
