Gustoso

We've been here at Kwality House for a while now. It's right under the Kemps Corner Bridge in Mumbai. Sometimes the traffic outside gets a bit loud, but inside it’s just us doing our thing. People usually find us when they are heading down August Kranti Road. We didn't want to be one of those fancy places that feels stiff. We just wanted to make food and have a spot where neighbors could stop by. Dealing with the rain in Mumbai and the humidity is just part of the daily routine here. The kitchen gets hot, but that's how it goes. We handle things as they come. If a chair wobbles, we fix it when we can. It’s a small space, 109 to be exact, so things can get tight during the lunch rush. We try to keep the floors clean and the tables wiped down, though sometimes a stray napkin might get missed when we're busy. There isn't a big team behind the scenes, just a few of us working shifts and making sure the doors open on time. We don't have a big fancy sign or anything, just the name Gustoso out front. Most people know us because they live nearby or work in one of the offices around Kemps Corner. It’s just a regular place to eat and spend some time. We aren't trying to change the world, just serving meals and keeping the lights on.
