Guru Krupa Enterprise

You can find us on the ground floor of the Wakni Building, right there at Office No. 1 on J.B. Marg. Being in Parel East means it’s always crowded and there’s a lot of noise from the street, but that’s just life in Mumbai. Guru Krupa Enterprise has been operating out of this small room for quite a while now. We deal with various supplies and trade, basically whatever comes our way and needs moving. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re always too busy to actually get around to doing it. There’s always someone coming in or going out with a delivery. We keep the front door open most of the day so the breeze comes in, along with a fair bit of dust. I spend most of my day sitting behind a heavy wooden desk that’s been here longer than I have. My helper, Sunil, handles all the packing in the back corner where we keep the tape and boxes. We have a routine that works for us, even if it looks a bit chaotic to an outsider walking in. Sometimes the monsoon rain floods the street outside, and we have to move everything on top of the tables to keep it dry. It’s just part of being in this neighborhood. We know the chai wallah across the street by his first name, and he knows exactly how we like our tea. It’s a simple setup, but it’s ours and we’ve made it work through all kinds of seasons. We don't plan on moving anywhere else for a long time.
