Grand Konkan Swad Restaurant

You can find us over at Ganga Niwas, right in Shop No 2 and 3 on Link Road in Malad West. Being right opposite the Toyota showroom makes it pretty easy for people to spot us. We started Grand Konkan Swad because we wanted to bring those coastal flavors we grew up with to this part of Mumbai. It’s not a huge place, just a simple restaurant where you can sit down and have a meal without too much fuss. We spend a lot of time sourcing the right spices and fresh ingredients because that’s what makes the food taste like home. The Link Road traffic is always moving outside, but inside we try to keep things moving too. It’s a lot of hard work, especially on weekends when families from all over Malad show up for dinner. We don’t go in for fancy decorations or anything like that. We just make sure the tables are clean and the fish or whatever we are serving that day is fresh. The staff here are mostly local guys who know the menu inside out. We just want people to enjoy the food and feel comfortable while they’re here. It’s a straightforward business, really. We open up, cook, serve, and clean up at the end of the night. It’s what we know how to do for our customers in Mumbai.
