Govindas Restaurant35 is down at 7 K M Munshi Marg in Girgaon Chowpatty. We are very close to the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. Mumbai is a loud and fast place, but our little corner stays pretty consistent. We’ve been here serving food to people walking by the beach for a while. It’s a vegetarian spot, and we keep things very basic. No one here is a professional writer, so we just talk to our customers like normal people. The salt air from Chowpatty can be tough on the building, so we’re always fixing something or painting a wall. We have a lot of students from the college nearby coming in. They don't want anything fancy, just a place to sit. Our kitchen isn't huge, but we make it work. We don't have a big corporate office or a marketing plan. We just open the doors and see who comes in. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze sometimes when it's raining outside and everyone wants to come in at once. We know the neighborhood well and the other shop owners too. It’s just a regular Mumbai business. We do our best with what we have and don't try to pretend we are a big luxury place. It’s just us on Munshi Marg doing the work every day.
