About Government Polytechnic Mumbai – Education in Mumbai
We've been here at 49, Kherwadi for a long time now. If you know Bandra East, you know how busy A Y Jung Marg gets in the mornings. Our gates open pretty early and the students start trickling in from the station. It’s a large campus but we always feel short on space because there’s so much going on in the workshops. You can hear the sounds of machines and students talking over their lunch boxes. We don't have fancy glass buildings or anything, just solid old structures that have seen many batches come and go. Most of us who work here have been around for years, so we know every corner of the hallways. Sometimes the rain makes things a bit messy near the entrance, but that’s just part of life in Mumbai. People walk in looking for the office, and usually, someone is around to point them the right way. It’s not a quiet place, especially when classes let out and everyone rushes toward the road. We try to keep things moving. The canteen is always crowded, and you can smell the tea from the staff room. It’s just a normal, hardworking place where people show up and do what they need to do. We don't do much in the way of decoration, mostly just notices pinned on the boards and some old benches. It feels like home to us after a while. It's our spot.
