Golden Star Thali Restaurant

We are located at Shop 330 on Raja Mohan Roy Road, which is right near the Charni Road station in Mumbai. If you've ever been to this part of the city, you know it's always moving and very crowded. We've been serving thali here for many years now. It's a simple setup where people sit down and we bring out the food in stages. The lunch hour is usually our busiest time, with office workers and people coming off the trains looking for a quick meal. The space inside is a bit tight, so you might end up sitting pretty close to someone you don't know. It’s a bit noisy with the clatter of the stainless steel plates and everyone talking. We don't have a menu where you pick individual dishes; it’s just the thali of the day. Our cooks have their own way of doing things and they don't like to be rushed, even when it's busy. We use fresh ingredients and just cook what we know. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the floor is a bit worn from all the feet walking over it, but the place has a lot of history. Many of our customers have been coming here since they were young. We just keep doing what we've always done, day in and day out, serving food to the people of Mumbai.
