Global Technology

Our office is at 272 Panalal Terrace, located in the Kabir Wad area near Tumkur Road by Grant Road in Mumbai. It’s an old building, and the entrance is a bit narrow. We’re surrounded by all sorts of other businesses, mostly people selling parts or doing repairs. At Global Technology, we mostly deal with hardware and technical bits. The room is usually filled with the smell of solder and old electronics. We have workbenches pushed up against the walls and wires hanging from everywhere. It’s not the kind of technology company you see in magazines; there are no beanbags or glass walls here. We just have a few old desks and a lot of tools. Most of the day is spent looking at circuit boards or trying to figure out why a piece of equipment isn't powering on. Grant Road is a very busy place, so there’s always a lot of shouting and horns honking outside our window. We’ve been here for a few years now and we like the local vibe. It’s easy to find whatever spare parts we need just by walking down the street. We don’t have a lot of staff, just a couple of us who know our way around a motherboard. We keep things informal and just focus on fixing whatever comes across our desk. It’s a bit messy, but we know where every screw is kept. It works for us anyway.
