Ginger Restaurant

You can find Ginger Restaurant over in Chandivali, specifically at Shop No 8 in the Sheldon Apartments. We are in the Andheri East area of Mumbai, which everyone knows is always moving at a hundred miles an hour. We are quite close to Lake Home, so that is a good landmark if you are trying to find us. Running a restaurant in Mumbai is no joke. The space is small, but we make use of every inch we have. I spend most of my day in the back or talking to the delivery guys who are always coming and going. It gets very hot in the kitchen, especially during the monsoon when the humidity is high. We don't have any fancy decorations or a big marketing budget. We just put out our chairs and serve the food. Most of our customers are people who live in the apartments nearby or work in the local offices. We know a lot of them by name now. It feels like a little community even though we are in such a massive city. Sometimes we run out of things or the delivery is late, but we just deal with it. It’s a real place with real people working hard. We aren't part of any big chain. It is just this one shop here in Chandivali. We keep the lights on late because people in Mumbai always seem to be hungry at odd hours.
