Ghazal Singer Deepak Kumar

Deepak Kumar here. I've been singing ghazals for a while now and I’m based out of Kandivali West. Specifically, you can find me at Flat No 502 in Building No 13 C, over in Shinde Ali, Shukrwar Peth. It's a busy area but the flat is where the practice happens. I spend most of my days working on melodies and going through the classic poets. Living in Shaniwar Peth gives a certain vibe to the music, I think. It’s not a big fancy studio or anything like that. Just a regular space where the harmonium stays out most of the time. Sometimes neighbors hear the rehearsals, but nobody has complained much yet. I mostly deal with local bookings and people who just enjoy the traditional sound of a good ghazal. It’s a quiet life centered around the music and the local community here. If you are around the 502 building, that is where the work gets done. I don't have a big team or a flashy office. It's just me and the music. The address in Shukrwar Peth is easy enough to find once you get into the lane. I’ve been in this spot for some time and it suits the way I work. Nothing too complicated, just focusing on the singing and making sure the notes are right before a performance. It's a simple setup in Kandivali West that works for what I do.
