Geejay Media & Satellites Private Limited operates out of the Thacker Industrial Estate in Lower Parel. We are on the first floor in unit 11-A. Lower Parel is an interesting place because it has all these old industrial buildings right next to massive new glass towers. Our estate is one of the older ones. The stairs are a bit narrow and the walls have that old industrial look. Inside, our office is packed with media equipment and desks. It is not a very tidy place because there is always some project going on and things are being moved around. We have cables running across the floor and shelves filled with old tapes and gear. It’s a bit dusty, but it’s where we do all our work. N M Joshi Marg is right outside, so you can hear the buses and trucks all day long. We have a small team and we’ve all been working together for years. We don’t really care about having a polished look for the office. As long as the equipment works and the lights stay on, we are happy. Usually, someone is brewing tea in the corner and there is a lot of shouting back and forth about different tasks. It’s a busy, gritty kind of place that feels like the old Mumbai. We just get on with it and handle our media stuff.
