Gardeena Horticulture

If you head over to Kurla East, specifically Kamgar Nagar, you will find us at 32 C. We are right in the S G Barve Nagar area. Gardening is a lot of work, and that’s what we spend our days doing here at Gardeena Horticulture. It isn't a clean job. There is always some soil on the floor and empty pots stacked in the corners. We spend most of our mornings watering the plants and checking for any bugs. It's a quiet life in a way, despite being in Mumbai. We don't have a big office or a receptionist. Usually, whoever is closest to the door helps out when someone walks in. We know a lot about the local climate and what grows well in this part of the city. We don't use any big words to describe what we do. We just like plants and we like seeing them grow well. Some days are harder than others, especially when it’s really hot and we have to haul water around to all the rows. But it’s what we chose to do. Our space at 32 C is small but it fits all the tools and greens we need. We’ve been here long enough that the postman doesn't even need to look at the number anymore. We just keep our heads down and work with the dirt, making things grow. It is just a few of us here keeping the place running.
