Gaonkar Technology (Opc) Private Limited is situated inside the Phoenix Paragon Plaza Mall in Kurla West. It is a bit of a different experience working inside a mall complex. Our unit is 2B/82 on the second floor of the plaza on L.B.S. Marg. Being an OPC, it is a smaller operation, which means things are handled quite directly. The walk from Kurla station is always an adventure because the traffic on L.B.S. Marg is legendary for being stuck. Once you get inside the mall, it is a bit quieter, though you can still hear the hum of the air conditioning and the distant sound of shoppers on the weekends. The office itself is compact and efficient. There is just enough room for the essentials. It is nice being in a place like Paragon Plaza because if we need a break or something to eat, we just walk out the door and everything is right there. We do not have any big mission statements on the walls or corporate posters. It is just a place where the work happens. Most of the day is spent on the computer, dealing with whatever technology projects are currently active. It is a practical choice for a small business in Mumbai because it is central, even if the commute through the Kurla crowds can be a bit much some days. We just keep our heads down and stay busy with the tech.
