Ganiz Travel & Utility Services

We've been up here on the first floor of the Brigadier Building for a while now. Bhendi Bazar is always loud, you know how it is. People come in with their utility bills or looking for a train ticket and we just try to get it sorted. It's not a big fancy place. The stairs are a bit narrow and there is always someone shouting outside, but it works for us. Most days it’s just about handling the paperwork and making sure the electricity gets paid or the travel dates are right. We spend a lot of time on the computer or the phone. Sometimes the internet is slow and we just have to wait it out while chatting with whoever is sitting in the chair across the desk. It’s mostly locals who stop by. They know where we are, tucked away in number 11. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fan going full speed. There’s no big strategy here, just doing the work that comes in through the door. We see the same faces every month for their bills. It’s a bit cramped with all the files stacked up, but we know where everything is. If you’re walking through the bazaar, you might miss the entrance if you aren't looking up. We just keep at it, day after day, helping folks get their errands done so they can go home. It’s a long day but it feels okay.
