Ganesh Doubling Factory

We are located near the Ridhu Sidhi Society, which is quite close to Meena Hospital in the Arjun Wadi area. If you know the Thane Belapur Road at Ghansoli, we are right around there near MBP. The factory stays busy with the doubling machines running most of the time. It gets quite loud inside when everything is turned on at once. We have a few guys who have been working these machines for years now. They know exactly how to fix a snag without even looking too hard. The floors usually have some bits of thread and dust on them, no matter how much we sweep. It's just the nature of the work. Getting here in the morning can be a bit of a crawl because of the traffic on the main road. The building is tucked away a bit, so sometimes delivery drivers get a little lost trying to find the gate. We spend a lot of time checking the spindles and making sure the yarn is moving right. Lunch is usually eaten together in the small room at the back. We bring our own tiffins. Sometimes it gets hot in the afternoons, but the big fans help a little. We deal with various types of threads and orders that come in from all over Mumbai. It isn’t glamorous work, just steady. The machines are old but we keep them oiled and running. That’s pretty much what goes on here every day from morning to night.
