Gallops Restaurant

Gallops Restaurant is situated on Keshavrao Khadye Marg in the Mahalaxmi area of Mumbai. We are actually located inside the Mahalaxmi Race Course, which is a pretty unique spot to be. Because we are inside the grounds, you can see a lot of greenery and sometimes hear the horses, which is a nice change from the rest of the city. The restaurant itself has been here for a long time and the building has that old look to it. We don’t have any modern, flashy lights or anything like that. It’s a place where people come to sit and eat, away from the heavy traffic on Keshavrao Khadye Marg. Our staff is mostly people who have been with us for years and we just go about our work in a quiet way. The room looks like it has been here for ages and we try to keep it clean and tidy without changing too much. When the racing season is on, it gets a lot more crowded, but on other days, it’s a fairly calm place to be. We spend our mornings getting the tables ready and making sure the kitchen is stocked for the day. Being in such a famous part of Mumbai means we see all kinds of people, from regulars who have been coming for decades to people who are just curious about the Race Course. It’s just a steady, traditional place.
