G P Tailors

G P Tailors is tucked away at 48/50 Bazar Gate Street in the Fort area. We are right on the ground floor, which makes it easy for people to just walk in off the street. Fort is a very old part of town and our building feels that history too. Inside, you’ll find piles of fabric and a couple of sewing machines that have seen a lot of use over the years. We spend most of our time measuring people or cutting cloth on the big wooden table. It’s not a quiet place because of the traffic outside and the constant whirring of the machines. We’ve been tailoring here for a long time. People come in with clothes that need fixing or they want something new made from scratch. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who know how to handle a needle and thread. The lighting isn’t the best, but we make it work. Sometimes it gets really hot in the afternoons, so we keep the door open to get some air from the street. You can see the old architecture all around us. We don’t do any fancy marketing; most people just find us by walking past or hearing about us from a neighbor. It’s a simple life of stitching and fitting. We just focus on the garment in front of us. It’s a honest way to earn a living.
