Living and working in Mumbai means you get used to being in tight spaces, and our place at First Advantage Pvt Limited is no different. We are situated at 25 35 Sainik Nagar, which is a busy little pocket of the city. The office isn't anything special to look at from the street, but it is where we spend eight or nine hours every day. Maharashtra summers are tough, so our old air conditioner gets a real workout, even if it rattles quite a bit. There’s a tea shop just down the road that we visit way too often. The walk from the nearest station can be a bit of a trek during the monsoon when the roads get muddy, but we manage. Inside, the space is filled with the sound of typing and people talking on phones. We don't have any big mission statements on the walls, just a few calendars and some notes pinned up. It’s a practical setup. We have a small pantry where we keep our lunch boxes, and the water cooler is the main spot for catching up on gossip. It’s a local business through and through. Most of us live nearby or commute in on the local trains, so we are all pretty tired by the time Friday rolls around. It is just a regular office in a regular Mumbai suburb where people work hard and try to stay cool while they get through their tasks.
