Fattechand Kacherdas Bhatevara

If you come down Bomanji Master Road, you’ll find us in Gandhi Mansion. It’s an older building, and we’ve been here for quite some time now under the name Fattechand Kacherdas Bhatevara. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so you’ll often see a couple of us sitting around the main desk dealing with paperwork or talking to someone who stopped by. The rooms have high ceilings and that old-building smell that you get in these parts of town. We don't have any big signs or bright lights. Most people know where we are just by the address and word of mouth. Our daily routine involves a lot of checking ledgers and making sure everything is in order. It’s not a high-tech operation, we still prefer doing a lot of things the traditional way. Sometimes the traffic outside on the road gets really loud, but we’re used to it by now. There’s a lot of history in this building and in our business too. We have stacks of files going back years tucked away in the back corners. It’s a bit dusty in the storage areas, but we know where everything is. People come to us because they know who we are and they’ve probably dealt with our fathers or grandfathers before. We just keep doing what we’ve always done, day in and day out, without much change. It's just about being here and getting the daily work finished before the sun goes down and we head home.
