Facom

We have a bit of an unusual setup here at Facom. Part of our work happens at No.3 on Moudha Ibrahim Salai in Nagalkeni, Chromepet. Then we also have some space at 20 Thomas Nagar over in Little Mount. It means some of us are always moving between the two spots during the day. It can get a bit confusing for the new delivery drivers who aren't sure which gate to go to, but we’ve lived with it for a long time. The Nagalkeni side is where most of the heavy lifting and industrial stuff happens. It’s an area known for leather work and factories, so it’s never really quiet. Over at Little Mount, things are a bit different, but just as busy in their own way. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone to write fancy brochures for us. It’s just a group of us who know the trade well. Our desks are old and the chairs squeak every time you sit down, but they do the job. We spend a lot of time on the phone coordinating between the two addresses. Sometimes a part is at one place when we need it at the other, so someone has to hop on a scooter and go fetch it. It’s not a perfect system, but it’s ours. We don't put on an act for anyone. If you come by, you’ll see us in our work clothes, probably covered in a bit of dust.
