We are over here in Lower Parel, specifically in Vasan Udyog Bhavan. It’s a busy spot. Our office is Unit 109 on the first floor. You have to walk up some stairs that have seen better days, but it gets the job done. The area off Senapati Bapat is always jammed with cars and bikes, especially during the monsoon when everything slows down. Inside the unit, it’s mostly just us working through the daily tasks. It’s an industrial building, so you hear the sounds of other businesses nearby, maybe some machinery or people moving crates. We’ve been here for a while and the walls are filled with old shelves and files that we probably should organize better one day. There is a small chai stall just outside the main gate where we usually go when the afternoon gets too long. It’s not a fancy glass building like the ones you see popping up nearby, but it works for what we do. Sometimes the power flutters, but we just wait it out. Most of the staff has been around for years, so we all know how the lights flicker and which desk has the wobbly leg. It is a practical place. We don't spend much time worrying about the decor. We just make sure the work gets done and we can head home before the trains get too crowded. It’s just Emco Meditek, sitting here in our little corner of the first floor.
