Our HR office is in Mumbai, specifically in Building No 1, Flat No 10. It’s right in the middle of the 400 086 zip code area. Working in HR in a city like this means the phones never really stop ringing. We are based in a residential building, which makes the office feel a bit more relaxed than those big glass towers downtown. We spend our days looking through resumes and talking to people who are looking for work. It’s a lot of coordination and making sure everyone is on the same page. The flat is a bit small for all the filing cabinets we have, so things are tucked into every available corner. We don’t have a corporate cafeteria or a gym. We just have a small kettle for tea and a window that looks out over the street. The traffic in Mumbai is always there as a background noise. We aren't a massive agency with thousands of recruiters. It’s just a small team trying to help people find the right spots. Sometimes we get overwhelmed with the amount of mail, but we eventually get through it. It’s a humble setup. We don't wear suits unless we absolutely have to for a meeting. Most of the time, we’re just in regular clothes, drinking chai and trying to keep the database updated. It’s real work done by real people in a regular Mumbai apartment.
