Dsouza Farmhouse

Dsouza Farmhouse in Malad West. We’re over in Manori Village. It’s a different world from the rest of Mumbai. The road from Gorai is a bit long but it’s nice. We are right opposite the Sai Mauli Temple, which is a big landmark for us. The farmhouse has been here for a long time. It’s not a hotel, it’s more like a family place. We have a lot of trees and some open space where you can actually breathe. People come here when they are tired of the city noise. We don’t have air conditioning in every corner because the sea breeze usually does the work. My father used to look after the garden, and now I do it. We grow some of our own vegetables when the season is right. The kitchen is always busy with someone making tea or cooking up a meal. It’s not a perfectly polished place; you might see a bit of rust or some old paint, but it’s real. We treat the guests like they are just visiting our home. Sometimes the dogs bark at the gate when someone arrives. It’s just life in Manori. We don’t have a big staff, just a few local people who have been with us forever. It's a simple, honest way to live. We like the quiet nights here. If you want a place that feels like a real home, this is where we spend our days.
